It's the only national cancer institute in our state and it just got renewed by the NIH with a grade of outstanding, putting it in the top 10 to 20% of national cancer Institute centers in the entire country. Our Institute for Research on Poverty has won major grant funding to study the relationship between income and a child's brain development. And the waisman center recently published some groundbreaking research that's moving us closer to understanding what causes down syndrome. Now, we've also had an outstanding year in public service.
