To give you a sense of the STEM related issues, 20 years ago, fewer than a third of our graduates were enrolled in STEM majors and today nearly half are. Last year's grads included record high numbers of bachelor degrees in high needs fields such as computer engineering and nursing. Now, on the one hand, this is great news. Wisconsin employers need graduates with these skills. On the other hand, these areas are intensive both in terms of physical infrastructure needs and faculty and staff support. (12:56–13:04)
