But I should also add that they serve at the pleasure of the legislature, and that is something I made clear in a letter I wrote to the Orange Unified school board's president. They also have fiduciary duties to taxpayers and to students. And There is something called the Brown act that they are supposed to follow, which says that if you are going to meet and decide business, you have to do it publicly with public comment.
