This came after what had happened in 2025 when the need for funding towards the program increased as some area development districts exhausted all previously budgeted funding for the program. At that time, I reallocated an additional $9.1 million for those senior meals. a step that was supported by many members of the General assembly that said, how could we not provide these dollars? They were fully aware of the increased need. (24:24–24:37)
