Knowing how hard it is, knowing how costs are hitting everyone, I took a step to help Kentucky families with rising prices. One of those steps included an executive order declaring a state of emergency where I lowered the gas tax. The order reduced the gas tax by 10 cents, resulting in a 10 cents per gallon price decrease for Kentuckians. We could track that compared to the rest of the country. The order was expected to save Kentuckians $26.8 million during the first month. (25:31–25:41)
