I've been in the courtroom for a while, and my feeling is those that memo should be released to the American public so people can judge for themselves the legality. And I led a group of my colleagues, all of us Democrats on the Armed Services Committee. We just released the letter to the Secretary of Defense and asking that that Office of Legal MEM OLC memo be released to the American public. So to answer your question, there are legal questions here that the American public deserves to know and frankly, the troops deserve to know in executing those orders. (40:16–40:36)
