By one calculation, the Jones act adds close to $2,000 per year per family for every family throughout Hawaii as compared to what we might be able to do if the Jones act was modified to adjust to our specific situation. And so I have again introduced legislation in Congress to either exempt Hawaii and our other island jurisdictions from the Jones Act or link the prices that can be charged to worldwide shipping prices. or require that the Jones act be waived when we get into a monopoly situation, as we do here today.
