But I think there are still lessons for us to learn from COVID around how do we better coordinate working in public health at the state and local level. Another issue around this is mental health. There is far too much burden that's placed on local units of government [regarding mental health]. A fractured system where sometimes the county has to deal with mental health and public safety officials are forced to be doing things that public health professionals should be doing.
