I was a special assistant United States Attorney, so I was a federal prosecutor at the same time as a state prosecutor. I prosecuted gun cases. So violent offenders who were using guns for drug transactions or felons in possession. The whole goal of that grant was to get to target anyone who was using a firearm in the course of doing something bad and making sure that we got the maximum punishment on that person, whether it was in federal court or state court. Wherever it was. I, as that special prosecutor in both courts, federal court and state court, I could figure out where we could maximize our prosecutorial resources and get the best punishment.
