So literally, almost anything that we spend money on other than the police will reduce crime. And yet X12 just passed last session, and what that was was Republican legislation that gave Milwaukee just scraps of additional revenue, forced us to increase our sales tax, it disemboweled the fire and police commission, which we used to be able to set policy, and then it forced cops back in schools. And perhaps the worst part of this is that it mandated that every single year, the Milwaukee Police Department has to have more officers and more dollars. (28:13–28:36)
