Right now utilities get a profit bonus of about $20 million every year simply for being part of New England's grid. Massachusetts is the last state in New England that gives this kind of bonus. It's ridiculous. We should get rid of it. Makes no sense. And I support the legislature's plan to eliminate this unnecessary bonus. Utilities also get a fee for every clean energy contract they sign.
