The issue with universal background checks is the person selling the gun. If they're not conducting a background check, they don't know if the person they're selling to is a felon. People can literally sell guns out of the trunk of their cars right now, no matter who is trying to buy them. Mr. Toney has not been willing to stand up to the NRA and the gun lobby. He's been bragging about having their support. I think we need common sense measures that make our communities Safer. (50:12–50:18)
