Right now in Wisconsin, we are putting in about 18% from state tax dollars what it costs for a public education at a college level. This is causing a lot of people to come out with immense amounts of student debt. And We're ranked 43rd in what we're putting into colleges for investments. We need to do better. That attracts people here, that builds the workforce of tomorrow, that keeps people here. And if we want Wisconsin to grow and do better, we need to invest in our public education. (04:10–04:16)
