In fact, in recent years, UTEP has actually promoted Latino faculty to tenure at a lower rate. And at other schools around the state, those numbers dropped drastically. At UNT, only 6% of the faculty granted tenure were Hispanic and 3% were black. At UT Dallas, only 5% of the faculty granted tenure were hispanic and 8% were black.
