We still have folks who think that this is just a redo of 2017, 2018, and if we win the next election, this dark chapter will pass. And that's not where we are. We are in the midst of what is charitably referred to as competitive authoritarianism. And so our first responsibility is to recognize that we are in the middle of authoritarianism.
