I will never support a tax bill that does not lift the cap on salt. And here's the reality of the negotiations. If we do nothing, the cap on SALT expires. If we don't pass a tax bill, unlimited salt comes back. The problem is that it would be associated with the largest tax increase in American history. The alternative minimum tax would come back in spades, which would have a negative impact on New York and California and New Jersey, among others. (03:25–03:34)
