It's just everywhere I go across the city, people are already feeling they either themselves or are connected to someone in our community who is living in unacceptable and unnecessary uncertainty right now. The Federal workers who are, despite everything, still showing up to work, doing their jobs, keeping us safe at the airport. or at various spaces throughout the city and the country. To not know what will happen with their own families and their own livelihoods is just the biggest slap in the face to public workers and public servants that you could give. (04:03–04:12)
