We live in a city state law balance where cities do not have the authority to either change their tax law or create different revenue streams. Unlike other major cities around the country. Everything that we do related to how we fund city services has to flow through the entire state legislature. and every city weighing in on Boston or any individual municipality's ability to change that mix.
