Additionally, the United States Forest Service, the current manager of the land that this bill would transfer, has expressed their desire to address this longstanding inequity in their testimony for today's hearing. Given the unanimous support for this bill from the Alaska native communities across the state, and especially in southeast Alaska, it's clear that a consensus has emerged. and it's time for Congress to join in the spirit of encouraging native american management of traditional land and resources.
