As lieutenant governor, I think we need to, first off, we need to be sure that we're offering every opportunity for treatment for those who have gotten caught up in it. But I think our main focus needs to be public safety. We need to give the police and the judiciary the tools they need to go after the people who are trafficking drugs into the state and dealing them in our communities. and make sure that the punishment fits the crime.
