Now, after years of negotiation, a new farm bill has finally advanced out of the Agriculture Committee in the House and it's coming to the House floor. This is a really important step. But I also want to be honest with you. The current proposal, which House Republicans who drafted the language refer to as a skinny farm bill because of how narrow it is in scope, does not meet the moment or the needs of American farmers. We don't need skinny support for our farms and our farmers. We need he huge, fat, robust investments. This bill just simply does not do enough. Here's what's bad about it. (02:06–02:21)
