Everybody else is paying property taxes, but they aren't. So maybe we should. But there was a lot of uproar, pushback from a variety of people living there and other leaders. So In 1986, the city council actually wrote into law saying these 400 properties wouldn't have to pay city taxes. And in fact, nobody. And then it really wasn't talked about very much. Nobody that I know of on the city council knew about this until a nearby property owner who was paying city. (06:28–06:35)
