The police officers did just that. Unfortunately, they appear to have been derelict their duty and did not search start for a weapon. They had probable cause. Multiple witnesses apparently heard him scream, I've got a weapon. That is probable cause to search him, to search his vehicle, to search anywhere and everywhere for said weapon, even if it didn't amount to probable cause, which it absolutely. (49:03–56:02)
