That despite the progress in lowering the number of homicides, we still have far too many senseless shootings, too much gun violence, and too many illegal guns on the streets of Philadelphia. We know that Our neighborhoods, they too have been struggling under lots of blight, illegal trash dumping and nuisances that, in essence, degrade the quality of life and enjoyment of our blocks and of our communities at large. What I'm here to mention to each of you today is that we are going to be laser focused on developing and implementing solutions to address our challenges. (33:37–33:54)
