Sheriff Gaines passed away on October 22, 2025 at the age of 88. The building is dedicated to honoring the lasting impact he had on our state. The new campus gives Team Kentucky a permanent footprint in Western Kentucky law enforcement training and once completed will bring 20 full time jobs to the Madisonville area with an average salary of $60,000 per year. When I became governor it was clear we needed more options to meet the high demand for basic training. So we got to work. I do want to thank Madisonville Mayor Kevin Cotton. (29:01–29:15)
