All right, providing safe medical cannabis has been something my administration has been working towards since I signed an Executive Order on June of 2022 creating the team Kentucky Medical Cannabis Advisory Committee. Our work led to my signing of Senate Bill 47 which legalized medical cannabis for Kentuckians beginning January 1, 2025. In just a little over a year we've been able to launch every step of the process from cultivators to processors, safety compliance facilities and dispensaries. (24:30–24:38)
