I am also announcing tonight a new self assigned Firearm Exclusion program or SAFE to help reduce suicide by firearms. We can help make sure folks have a plan to keep themselves safe when they are in a crisis. Our SAFE program will allow Wisconsinites to temporarily and voluntarily register to prevent themselves from purchasing a firearm. Registering SAFE could make a real difference and even save someone's life. Let's get this done folks. The legislature must start doing its part to take gun violence seriously in the state.
