Too many Gordon State families now grapple with the distressing reality that their sense of security within their own communities is under threat. As we reflect on these disconcerting trends, it has become evident that A number of policies that defund the police movement and lack of prosecution have contributed to this rise in theft. Consequences of these policies ripple throughout our neighborhoods, leaving our residents and our businesses vulnerable. I believe that public safety is non negotiable public public priority and a push to defund police undermines the critical role that law enforcement plays in maintaining protection. (02:03–02:11)
