I think many of your viewers know my story. My mother struggled with addiction to prescription pain pills that she was prescribed by her doctors for chronic back pain. When I first got into the Senate, most of the overdoses that we were seeing in the US were for prescribed narcotics. And we made some real reforms in how doctors prescribe these pills.
