In August of this year, Wisconsin became the first state in the nation to have applications for both components of this program approved by the U.S. department of Energy. The Home Efficiency Rebates Program, or HOMES, provides rebates of up to $10,000 to eligible households to reduce the cost of whole home energy savings projects. such as the installation of insulation and efficient heating and cooling equipment. HOMES was launched a couple months ago and I'm happy to report that today the first rebate checks are being cut to Wisconsinites utilizing this new program. (11:02–11:13)
