This not only includes providing up to date equipment, but also ensuring that fire departments, especially in rural and underserved areas, are adequately staffed and supported. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, The Homeland Security FY25 appropriations bill saw a $7.5 million increase in the Assistance to Firefighters grants and the Staffing Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grants. And while this hasn't become law, I am committed to continuing to push Congress to ensure that you all have the necessary resources that you can continue to do the work that you do every single day.
