Well, I think I've often heard it that show me a member of Congress, whoever lost because they spent too much money. FDR kind of plowed the ground here. In 1930, the federal government consumed about 3.5% of our GDP. Back then, state and local governments were spending about 9.1%. That was really the foundational premise of this country.
