The reason you may think you don't know a transgender person is because they've chosen not to tell you they don't feel like you would accept them, especially not if you support this legislation. Transgender people and their rights and access to gender affirming care is an issue that affects people, families and children from all of our districts. Mr. Speaker, by passing this bill, you're telling parents in your district that they don't get to provide care to their child that could save their children's lives or at the very least, help their children have better mental health.
