We need to allow health care and mental health professionals the opportunity to assess a patient and provide the best information to that patient in order to move forward in obtaining the care they need, no matter the age of the child. Every child in our state deserves the opportunity to be their best selves. Passing this legislation crushes that ability. So like many of my colleagues, when I decided to run for assembly, I did so with the goal of making the lives of people in my district and across our state better. (08:15–08:23)
