As someone who served on local government, I know our local communities need more support and funding and they need to have the power to make the decisions that are best for them. Additionally, The funding that was passed had a maintenance of effort audit on them. So every municipality has to show where the additional funds are used, causing more burden to our already understaffed municipalities. The shared revenue bill, as passed, also contained a ban on diversity equity and inclusion programs, restrictions on conservation grants, restrictions on public health officials, a ban on advisory referenda.
