Millions of mothers immediately would be able to do more to support their families and put that money right back into the economy. Raising the minimum wage is also good for business. An increase in 10, 10 an hour raised our GDP by up to $33 billion over the course of just three years. With those increased earnings, which means increased spending on household goods, on food, on clothing, on things families need, with that added activity in our economy, we could create up to 140,000 new jobs.
