Al McGuire was here and some of the other more middle class black students, they got together and they demanded that Marquette recruit some African American students, somebody other than the basketball players to come to Marquette. And I was part. In 1969, I was one of 39 students who came to Marquette who were not rich, middle class, or could play basketball.
