Number one, only the elected district judge can grant bail, not a magistrate or anybody else like that. Second, the judge must put in writing their explanation why they granted bail. And then third, The district attorney now has the ability to appeal that bail granted by a judge. And so there are other tools available to try to hold that judge accountable.
