As a good son of Maine, one of my heroes is Francis Perkins. She wasn't born in Maine, but her parents both were. And she did her best thinking on the Damascada River. So she's ours. Frances Perkins goes up 1933 into the FDR administration. First woman cabinet member in American history. Longest serving Secretary of Labor in American history.
