And as of tomorrow, they will all be gone. We spent roughly $10 trillion in taxpayer dollars to build these weapons, and then we paid again to dismantle those weapons because of the arms control treaties. But the true cost wasn't just dollars and cents. The arms race made the world vastly more dangerous.
