Going back to the 1970s, we had SALT treaties, we had the Anti Ballistic Missile Treaty, the INF treaty, the START treaty, the SORT treaty, and then the New START treaty. And as of tomorrow, they will all be gone. We spent roughly $10 trillion in taxpayer dollars to build these weapons, and then we paid again to dismantle those weapons because of the arms control treaties. But the true cost wasn't just dollars and cents. The arms race made the world vastly more dangerous.
