The advancement of technology and public safety cannot be mutually exclusive. As state policymakers, we have the responsibility to act. And that's why I am pleased that Legislation, like the Safe Chat legislation offered by Senator Pennycook and broader data privacy legislation offered by Representative Pieli are going through the legislative process now.
