What basically happened was people went home for COVID 19 and as most Americans went back to work probably sometime in 2020, 2023, government workers never did. Moreover, there was A Legislative Audit Bureau report released in December of 2023 found most workplaces were all but abandoned. Auditors visited selected offices of 15 different agencies of state government as well as administration in the UW system six times in order to determine the extent to which workstations were in use.
