I was elected prosecutor five times starting in 1984. And in that office, I did the things that you would normally expect a prosecutor to do. I toughened up policies on plea bargaining. I created special units to help victims of criminal sexual conduct, special units to take care of child victims of crime. Meaning that, I mean, obviously, you want to prosecute the defendant and get the conviction, but you also realize that there are some crimes which have more of an emotional impact and damage than others.
