And so the New York State Attorney General, Tish James, along with 23 states, has sued to stop the administration from dismantling AmeriCorps. New York City has the most AmeriCorps members anywhere in the country. In New York City, 6,476 [AmeriCorps] members are placed at 616 nonprofit organizations and city agencies. Unfortunately, already $30 million in grants to New York and more than 1,000 of those New York City AmeriCorps members have been terminated without notice. (21:34–21:45)
