New York City has the most AmeriCorps members anywhere in the country. In New York City, 6,476 members are placed at 616 nonprofit organizations and city agencies. Unfortunately, Already $30 million in grants to New York and more than 1,000 of those New York City AmeriCorps members have been terminated without notice. Our calculations show that for every dollar provided through AmeriCorps, there's a $17 return on investment for communities. This is a place where New York City has really stepped up. (21:45–21:55)
