It's going to take a whole lot of people rolling up their sleeves. At the same time, it is stunning when you realize how few votes tip everything. So right now, Republicans have a majority in the U.S. house because of 7,309 votes across three congressional districts. You could also argue, as I do in the book, they have a US House majority because of 401 votes in a 2020 North Carolina Supreme Court race that led to the gerrymandering of that state that gave Republicans three additional congressional seats.
