Women were forced to march in blistering Arizona sun while somebody on staff yelled at them, this is the price of the American dream. Air conditioning turned off and blasted at full strength, making women sick. Medical conditions completely ignored, not to mention the legal benefits that are available to detainees. Following my last visit, I sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, an acting director of U.S. immigration and Customs Enforcement, Todd Lyons, detailing my deep concerns about the inhumane conditions within the center.
