For generations, Wisconsin governors have exercised their constitutional power to grant official acts of forgiveness through pardons for folks who've done their time for the crime, worked hard to seek forgiveness and make amends, and deserve a second chance. When I became governor, I was proud to re-establish the state's Pardon Advisory Board. And over the last seven years, we've ensured that folks who've done their time and given back to their communities, many of whom received support from their victim, law enforcement, the courts, or even all three, could be granted this official form of forgiveness.
