This was a reality for those of us from Wisconsin for 15 months when Women were sent back to live under a law that was passed in Wisconsin in 1849, one year after statehood. It is widely viewed as a criminal abortion ban and one that, I might add, predates the Civil War and certainly predates women having the right to vote. (01:36–01:53)
