It's the seductive nature of competitive authoritarianism, like Stockholm syndrome. Good people are going to decide that. As long as it looks like democracy, we're all okay. But Gerrymandering, voter suppression laws, and court authorized open season on voters of color is not democracy. It wasn't when the ruling was Plessy versus Ferguson. Pretending that separate could be equal and it isn't. In Calais, pretending race no longer matters. Calais is bad law and a bad idea. (10:57–11:07)
